ANOTHER MISCONCEPTION. A MASON WILL NEVER SOLICITE OR EVEN ASK ANOTHER PERSON TO BECOME A MEMBER. THAT PERSON HAS TO SHOW INTEREST IN MASONRY AND ASK (ACTUALLY FILL OUT A PETTION) TO JOIN. THEN THREE PEOPLE HAVE TO VOUCH FOR HIS GOOD NAME ETC ETC.
ALL THE NONSENSE STUFF YOU HEAR IS JUST THAT NONSENSE. FREEMASONRY IS AN ACCENT TO YOUR FAITH (WHATEVER THAT MAY BE EXCEPT ATHIEST)AND TEACHES YOU TO BE A BETTER PERSON, FATHER, HUSBAND, COUNTRYMAN ETC.
NOTHING IN FREEMASONRY CONFLICTS WITH YOUR DUTY TO YOUR GOD, YOUR FAMILY OR YOUR COUNTRY.

Tim I hope you read the article next time it did explain something to do with how they are taking a break away from the traditional membership ideas, also they aren't giving people membership they are just looking for people who are interested and giving the tours around there lodges.
I do know that the main idea of a mason is to increase your faith whatever that may be, as well as make you a supposed better person. But I also believe there is a lot of corruption higher up the lines of being a Free Mason...
